Birth Doula

Helping others has always come naturally to me. My love for helping others started 6 years ago when I decided to start my career in social work. As a social worker, it has always been a goal of mine to make a difference in each of the lives of the children and families I encounter daily. After years of serving communities, I realized that support through various stages of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood seemed to be lacking in the communities that needed it the most. Something was missing and I knew that my true passion was supporting families in a totally different way. After thorough research on how I could accomplish this, I realized that becoming a doula was my calling. I decided to train with Doulas of North America (DONA) in April of 2019. I walked away from my training knowing that I was on the right path and that I could make a difference in negative outcomes surrounding birth.

As a birthworker reflecting back on my birthing experiences, I wish I understood the importance of trusting your body and the natural process of birth. I now realize that I needed the emotional and physical support that I seek to provide for others. I have witnessed first hand what not having the support you need can lead to. My goal is to ensure that women are well informed of their options and are empowered to make the best decisions for themselves and their families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I have 3 beautiful children that call me mom and mean the world to me. In my free time I love listening to music, traveling to new places, and spending quality time with family.
