Hello, my name is Shekinah Duncan! I was born and raised in Memphis, but I attend school in Nashville, TN. I completed my doula training in March 2025 through DONA International. I have a strong passion for labor and delivery. Since COVID, I have been aware of black mortality rates and severe mistreatment of people of color. I knew from that point that I wanted to work in the labor and delivery field, not only as a doula, but as a future Nurse and Midwife. I believe every woman should receive the quality care they deserves and that babies are truly a joy from God! I will be a junior Nursing major at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, and I plan to attend graduate school to become a midwife.
